March 17, 2010 Dear Friend:
Taco Bell, CenturyLink and the West Monroe
Civitan Club announce the 15th annual Boys & Girls
Club Golf Classic, set for Friday, April 30 at the Calvert Course of
Southern Pines Golf Club in West Monroe.
This event is our most important fund-raising event each year to
support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Louisiana, formerly B&G
Clubs of West Monroe. This golf tournament will be a four-player Captain’s
Choice (scramble) tournament with shotgun tee-offs set for 8 a.m. and 1:30
p.m.
Now in its 48th year of serving the youth of Ouachita Parish, the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Louisiana serves more than 1,100
youth each year at these locations: 500 Evergreen St., West Monroe; and two
locations in Monroe at the Henrietta Johnson Family and Rec Center and the BJ
Washington Family & Fitness Center.
The quality after-school and summer programs of the Club provide
experiences which emphasize social, intellectual, cultural, health, and physical
development. The dedicated and trained adult staff maintains a club environment
which enhances the development of character and self esteem while making the
programs educational and fun and to help Club members reach their maximum
potential.
A partner agency of the United Way of Northeast Louisiana, Boys &
Girls Clubs of Northeast Louisiana use proceeds from this annual golf
fund-raiser to support these programs, providing scholarships for those who may
not be able to participate due to a lack of money.
If you do not play golf, you can still support the kids by purchasing
a tee sign ($100) or hole flag ($250)
sponsorships.
We are proud you would want to take part in this worthy project. As you
might know, our Boys & Girls Clubs help all kids, regardless of their
economic circumstances and your support is very
important.
In advance, I want to especially thank you for your donation and your
support in these tough economic times.
For the kids,
Tom Morris, Executive Director &
Chief Professional Officer
Boys
& Girls Clubs of Northeast
Louisiana
